The Face of 2010 attracted hundreds of young fresh faced model talent from Tayside and beyond making this competition a very close affair however finally the judges picked the winning duo at the Caird hall, Dundee on Sunday evening. Ellis O’Connor (18) and Jamie Hain (22) both caught the judges eyes and won an assortment of very special prizes , A fashion shoot at the Wella Studios in London (to kick start their portfolio’s) ,a Years model agency mentoring with Colours agency, Glasgow, A years free hairdressing at McIntyres,salons,Dundee, designer fashion clothes from Debenhams, gym membership and personal training from Stephen Clark Fitness. Not a bad nights work, Eh?.The one thing that did come across from the finalists who did look and move amazingly well was their camaraderie and how articulate everyone was including many students, mostly focused on achieving high level careers, everyone’s sense of adventure was refreshing each contestant contributed greatly to the night.
After interviews live on stage with the finalists the McIntyres Dancers Choreographed expertly by Kenny Christie performed an acrobatic, rhythmic routine injecting energy, adrenalin and theatre into the show, rousing the crowd.Then, a special appearance from Radio Tay and Bauer Media’s new protégé Carrie Mac won over hundred of new fans performing her new single ‘Hello’ (download available from the iTunes store). The Show was hosted brilliantly by Gary Robinson Radio Tays’ Station Director who was also instrumental in the success of the show from its inception. McIntyres would like to congratulate every one of the finalists who contributed to an amazing show and wish Ellis and Jamie well for the year ahead. We look forward to welcome them to the salon and working with them. Its great to see what can be achieved locally in Dundee the ‘City of Many Discoveries’ lets hope Ellis and Jamie discover even more in the year ahead and not forgetting – its all in a great charity cause ‘Cash for Kids!
