There were celebrations last night as Dundee Hairdresser Kay McIntyre was awarded the title ‘Scottish Hairdresser of the Year 2010’ at the prestigious British Hairdressing Awards

McIntyres hairdressing salons were asked by Dundee Football Club’s players wife’s and girlfriends to help style the hair and make-up for a special limited edition calendar promotion to help finances as the football club desperately tries to keep going under administration. Having been docked 25 points and burdened with debt the entire city is behind Dundee to stay in business and to survive. The Face of 2010 attracted hundreds of young fresh faced model talent from Tayside and beyond making this competition a very close affair however finally the judges picked the winning duo at the Caird hall, Dundee on Sunday evening.

McIntyres have partnered with Radio Tay , Tayside’s largest radio station to launch a competition to find the male and female ‘Face of 2010’
The winners shall receive a professional fashion shoot in London at Wella’s studio to start their portfolio , free hairdressing for a year with McIntyres salons, designer outfits from Debenhams, a personal trainer, and represented by a professional modelling agency.

The final judging and fashion show extravaganza will take place at Dundee’s Caird Hall on Sunday the 19th September

The National Hairdressers Federation’s National Conference 2010 is to be hosted at the Apex Hotel, Dundee, Scotland during the first weekend of October. The East of Scotland Area Council will be acting as hosts and shall welcome officials and delegates from across the UK on the Saturday with a Casino evening with buffet and wine.
